The point of curation is not to list as many businesses as possible. It is to present a smaller number of home-service specialists whose work merits closer attention.
That means looking past surface-level marketing and asking a more practical question: does this business show the kind of substance, judgment, and consistency that deserves to be featured here?

Vanguardist looks for trade-specific legitimacy, evidence in the work, credible client trust, category fit, and, where relevant, direct familiarity with how the work is carried out before a business is featured.
What curation does not mean
Vanguardist is not a certification body or regulatory authority. Curation does not claim that only featured businesses are qualified, and it does not reduce a business to review scores alone. It improves the starting point, not homeowner judgment.
